Mia & Lily

Lily came to visit Mia and help her through this transition. Lily is ready to have a brother next week. David and Julie are leaving for Guatemala to pick up Miles. We can't wait to see him when they return.

Our First Family Photo

She arrived today as sweet and amazing as I remember her to be. They are sisters. Each is sleeping in their own bed safe and warm. The future holds great things for them and we feel fortunate to be part of that experience. I don't know what I would do without my sisters. I have to imagine we had a moment very much like the one shown here. Part of me feels a little empty like the journey is over and part of me feels like the journey has just begun. Thanks to everyone that followed along and gave well wishes. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

mazy

mazy is okay, she is fighting an infection though. our lawyer came back to the hotel this morning and took mazy and i to the hospital. the doctor said she is running a high fever due to the onset of a bacterial infection [stomach]. she has gone through alot in the past 20 hours.

ma has been a big help through it all, she has plenty of wisdom and experience to keep me calm through it all. we are taking turns holding her, administering her medicines and trying to keep her calm and hydrated. this should run its course in 48 hours...

to top it off i can't get cellular phone connection the entire city has experienced a glut of calls as part of a marketing campaign of free calls on fathers day...

1:00am Call

I received a call from Dennis at 1:00am last night telling me that Mazlin had a bit of a scare. He called the doctor and the lawyer because she was running a very high fever and wasn't looking well. They gave her medicine to bring the fever down and she was resting when I talked with Dennis. I hope it is just due to a change in environment. She has been through a lot over the last couple of days. Only a few more days.

Happy Daddy's Day

Hello Dada:
Today is your day and you are far away from me. I love you and you are the best dada anyone could ask for. You are funny, kind and always there for me. You make my life happy and I will always be your little girl. I miss you, but I know Maz needs you right now. We will be thinking of you all day. This is what I picked out for your gift. We will put it in water so you can see it when you get home.

Love Mimi

I saw your picture today...

Dear Mia;
I logged on this morning to read all the rules you posted for me, even though Dada is here with me for the moment... you have Momma and i miss her dearly. I hope she is keeping you up on all the things we are doing. You are my BIG SISTER and i want you to show me around when I arrive next week.

shortly after this photo mazy had lunch and then i put both ma and mazy down for their naps...

stay tuned.

mia... i'm teaching mazy how to swim so she can hang out with you at the pool this summer.

celebration continued...

ma suggested we continue celebrating at the pool!

back to the futura by 9:30am...

the futura is our hotel... and here we are celebrating mazy's I-R4 over breakfast.

spy-picture shot outside US embassy

this is the line we stand in before being admitted into the embassy for our appointment. they do not allow cameras so i had to be stealthy.

waiting for our ride to the embassy,

mazy has to have her cheek on your cheek at all times.

following in mia's footsteps

mazy woke up at 5:30 am to get ready for her big day. she was the #1 appointment at the embassy for adopting families today... she is wearing the dress mia wore here twenty two months ago.
