Day three at the hospital

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to give you an update from sunny Antigua. Dennis is still in the hospital and the language barrier is really starting to get to both of us. The hospital staff speaks only Spanish. We find ourselves talking really loud and using our hands, but we are realizing it doesn´t work. Oh well, we are hoping he will be released today. It has been really stressful the last couple of days, but he sounds great and he said he is feeling back to normal. I´ve met a few other adoptive moms in the complex. My neighbor was able to begin fostering her daughter Lucy at 2 days old. Lucy refuses to sleep and stays awake almost 22 hours a day! In the evening you hear only crying babies. I live with about 6 other adoptive families in the complex. We decided to have a little wine happy hour yesterday. It was a nice break to have some adult interaction and hear about other adoption stories.

The rooster seems to park himself outside my window every morning 5:00am. Mia is laughing a lot and loves to stand on my lap. Every time she stands, she starts laughing out loud.

The city of Antigua is beautiful and the people are so kind. You travel by a Tuk Tuk to get around Antigua. It is basically a motorized bicycle that speeds through the streets. A new experience everyday. We miss everyone!
